Step Teacher are working with a Secondary School in St Albans who are looking for a Music Teacher to start in April 2025 on a full time basis. The role is initially a long term supply Music Teacher role with the view to become permanent from September 2025. This Secondary Academy graded ‘Good’ under the former Ofsted ratings for schools has a clear vision for their students with the belief that everyone deserves an education that gives them every opportunity to reach their full potential. The School maintains high standards while ensuring that the learning environment is caring and supportive. Music Teacher Role: Strong knowledge of the curriculum in Music Able to maintain an organised classroom and performance and practice areas, alongside professional use of associated instruments and resources. Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom and throughout the school Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback to help them to progress Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these Music Teacher Requirements: Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a Music Teacher Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management A relevant Music or Performing Arts related degree is desirable SEND experience is desirable Why Step Teachers?
