Role: Design Engineer
Location: Warrington
About the role:
1. Create detailed designs and technical specifications for products, systems, or components using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
2. Develop prototypes and mock-ups for new products, ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and ergonomic requirements.
3. Conduct design reviews with stakeholders, ensuring that designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and manufacturability.
4. Make-to-print – capture customer design intent and capture to allow manufacture, inspection, and supply and checking of Make-to-print drawings.
5. Follow CAD and drawing departmental guidelines.
6. Build and test prototypes to validate design assumptions and functionality.
7. Analyse test results and make necessary design modifications to improve performance, safety, and reliability.
8. Conduct failure analysis and troubleshoot design issues.
Working hours:
08:00am - 05:00pm Monday to Friday
1 Hour break
40 Hours per week
About you:
9. HNC/HND engineering qualification – Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Product Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
10. Experience in sealing or rotating equipment industry preferred.
11. Experience working with pressure vessels would be advantageous.
12. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, etc.).
13. Experience with prototyping, testing, and materials selection.
14. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and cost estimation.
15. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, mechanics, and materials.
16. Understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
17. Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
