Business Operations Director

Are you a leader in Business Operations who’s used to working in a start-up environment? One of our key clients, a start-up business within the Data Centre space, are looking for a Business Operations Director to join the team and help set up various functions within the business, whilst also supporting the Executive and Senior Management team in operational matters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Functions Setup and Management:
1. Establish and oversee key business functions such as HR, Legal, Finance, and IT Support.
2. Evaluate the need for external suppliers/providers for specific functions and manage vendor relationships.
3. Develop and implement policies, processes, and systems to ensure operational efficiency.
2. Operational Support:
1. Assist Executive and Senior Management teams with day-to-day operational tasks.
2. Take minutes during key meetings and track follow-up actions.
3. Prepare presentations, reports, and other materials to support strategic initiatives.
4. Manage office operations, including facilities, supplies, and administrative support.
3. Recruitment and Team Growth:
1. Work with HR (internal or external) to drive recruitment for operational roles.
2. Support onboarding and integration of new team members.
3. Assist in planning and executing strategies for team growth and development.
4. Strategic Collaboration:
1. Act as a key liaison between the Executive team and other departments, ensuring alignment on business priorities.
2. Identify and implement operational improvements to support business objectives.
3. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance efficiency and productivity.
5. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
1. Identify, negotiate, and manage contracts with external service providers.
2. Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring seamless service delivery.
Key Skills & Experience
1. Proven experience in a similar role within a start-up, scale-up, or high-growth organization.
2. Strong knowledge of setting up and managing core business functions (HR, Legal, Finance, IT).
3. Excellent organizational skills, with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficiency in creating professional presentations and reports.
6. Experience working with external vendors or service providers.
7. High level of discretion and professionalism when dealing with sensitive information.
8. Background in operational team recruitment and growth.
