The purpose of this role is to oversee day to day operations, develop operational excellence and consistency across all sites in the Pharmacy Supply Chain Network, with the end goal of enhancing efficiencies of dispensed items and drive overall profitability of each site. Sites are currently based in Beeston and Preston with further expansion of the network forecast. The Head of Pharmacy Logistics will be responsible for dispensing C700,00 items per week, delivering items to customers and to Boots Stores. The role will be responsible for: You’ll lead, develop & motivate a team of Operations managers who are focused on delivering against site specific SLA’s whilst maintaining exceptional safety and delivery standards. Lead and embed a strong Performance Leadership culture underpinned by ‘Our Behaviours’ in the area to deliver exceptional performance in leaders and teams. Grows and develops leaders through effective coaching conversations. Monitoring and reporting on pharmacy logistics costs, ensuring compliance to budget and overall cost effectiveness. Developing and implementing Pharmacy Logistics strategy, aligning with the organisations Pharmacy Growth Strategy. Proactively identify areas for improvement within the logistics process, reviewing and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Working with other senior stakeholders to ensure that Pharmacy logistics are able to adapt and deliver with launches of new products and ways of working. Delivers the people plan in support of sustained capability, recognition, retention, engagement and succession. Puts recruitment and retention plans in place to attract and retain top talent for the area/region, with clear objectives to reduce attrition for Pharmacists and Pharmacy support roles. To act as a point of escalation for any concerns in regards to service, significant breaches of policies and Health & Safety concerns. What you’ll need to have A Distribution & Supply Chain Background, preferably in Pharmacy logistics. Exceptional leadership skills, capable of managing multiple operations across the United Kingdom. Strategic mindset, capable of enabling change programmes and the establishment of further Boots sites in the Pharmacy Logistics Network. Able to deliver with pace and consistency whilst dealing with multiple complex issues across different areas of the supply chain. Ability to drill down into the detail of standards, identifies the root cause for non-delivery and supports with effective plans to address. Effective time management skills, able to split time across the logistics network.
