SCOPE & RANGE
The post holder will undertake a wide range of clinical duties delivering all aspects of general podiatric care with an emphasis on providing specialist quality podiatric care to patients with diabetes. The post requires the provision of this expert care at Band 6 and will incorporate the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of a range of patients presenting with (but not exclusively) diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, neuropathy, acute and chronic foot wounds, as well as those patients with general care needs. In fulfilling this role, the post holder will work with service colleagues across all bandings and sub-specialities as well as working in close liaison with colleagues from other services, including orthotic services, community nursing teams, wards, residential and nursing homes, and primary and secondary care including service colleagues and others within the local Diabetes MDT. The undertaking of domiciliary care is an important feature of this role.
The post holder will work across all service provision settings including but not limited to, community clinics and hospitals, primary care settings, domiciliary settings and as required on a rotational basis, secondary care establishments. Staff rosters may vary depending on service capacity and demands requirements and the post holder will provide cover as directed in managing these factors. An additional function of this role will be the provision of line-management to both clinical and non-clinical staff as required.
