Audit Quality - Audit Advisory Methodology Senior Manager (Asset Management)
BDO UK – Manchester, City and Borough of Manchester
Ideas | People | Trust We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.
We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy – and directly advise the owners and management teams leading them.
As part of our Audit Quality Directorate (AQD), you will support specialists in audit/assurance and other business streams. You’ll have a chance to use and develop your technical skills, find solutions to technical queries, and contribute to the firm’s commitment to deliver high-quality output.
You will lead and manage projects, build a network of experienced specialists, and help deliver accurate and transparent reporting to all relevant stakeholders.
Consistent high audit quality enables us to attract, develop and retain talented people. It requires a mindset of challenge and professional scepticism, appropriate resources, and investment in technology solutions.
This is an opportunity for a talented, high-performing, and ambitious Senior Manager to join the Methodology team in the Audit Quality Directorate (AQD). You will report to the Methodology Partner and work closely with Audit Advisory Directors.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing and executing audit and audit-related projects (such as CASS), with exemplary technical skills regarding auditing standards and their practical application. The role will be primarily based in the Baker Street Office in London, with some visits to other offices required.
You will be focused on the asset management and capital markets sector, which includes listed funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, renewables, corporate and private wealth managers. You’ll have:
1. ACA or similar professional accountancy qualification
2. Expertise regarding UK auditing standards
3. Significant hands-on practical asset management and capital markets audit/CASS experience
4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively
5. High attention to detail
6. Experience in training design, development, and delivery
7. Strong problem-solving skills
8. Experience as an audit manager
At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions, with programmes and resources that provide clarity around career development. Our agile working framework helps us stay connected, bringing teams together to share ideas and help one another.
