We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced PIP 1 Civilian Investigator to work for Lincolnshire Police at different locations across the region.
Lincolnshire Police are looking for investigators to work within either the Criminal Investigation Department CID at Lincoln and Skegness Police Stations, Major Crime Unit MCU - Sleaford Police Station or the Protecting Vulnerable Persons PVP - Lincoln, Grantham, Boston.
Please note these roles will be working a shift pattern which will be covering mornings, evenings and weekend workings.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE IS - To prepare and complete files in accordance with court deadlines, legislation, and force policy, ensuring that crimes under investigation are compliant with Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act (CPIA) and the Victims Code of Practice
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To respond effectively to all reports of serious and complex crime
2. To take ownership of serious and complex criminal investigations. To develop and record proportionate investigation plans and strategies. To prioritise lines of enquiry, maximising the gathering of material by securing and preserving evidence under minimum supervision. To conduct or co-ordinate all aspects of the investigation process, ensuring the highest quality of service to all stakeholders.
3. To effectively apply investigation procedures to ensure timely response to and conclusion of all
4. To gather, develop and use intelligence effectively utilising force IT systems to enhance investigations and inform other departments/line management of identified risks and safeguarding concerns.
5. To prepare case files within the designated timescales ensuring legislative compliance in line with the CPIA, disclosure rules and the Manual of Guidance for presentation to the Magistrates and Crown Courts.
6. To attend court and give evidence in relation to those aspects of any investigation which are within the post holders personal knowledge, or in which the post holder has had any involvement during the investigative process.
7. To represent the organisation by attending multi-agency meetings / case-conferences, or other such meetings as required or deemed appropriate by line management understand and apply relevant risk assessment processes to support the determination of response and effective resource prioritisation
8. To cultivate and maintain good relations between internal departments, external stakeholders, and the community.
9. To be fully conversant and competent with relevant legislation, practice agreements and investigation procedures.
10. To respond positively to operational requirements in relation to all aspects of the department, and as required and directed by department managers.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience of gathering information and / or data from third parties (e.g. researching, interviewing techniques).

Previous experience of problem solving and decision making with an ability to critically analyse material
14. Previous experience of working in a customer focused environment
15. Previous experience of working with confidential/sensitive material
16. Demonstrates lateral vision and a logical process for solving problems
17. Possess a sound knowledge of IT skills including Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook; ability to effectively use force IT systems following training
18. Demonstrates the ability to review and present information with accuracy and clear attention to detail
19. Self-motivated and focused on achieving high levels of performance, working as an ambassador for Lincolnshire Police
