General Manager
Caledonian is looking for an experienced, highly motivated General Manager to join our dynamic team at The Caledonian Tower Hotel located in the heart of Blackpool. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, innovation and delivering exceptional customer service and are looking for an individual who can lead our people and drive our business forward.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning
* Manage and supervise hotel team members, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance teams
* Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and enhance the overall guest experience
* Monitor and maintain hotel facilities, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and proper functionality
* Handle guest complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
* Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
* Manage budgets, expenses, and financial performance of the hotel
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of service and operations
* Conduct regular team meetings to provide updates, training, and motivation
* Manage contracts with entertainers and performers to provide high quality evening entertainment that aligns with the hotels brand and guest expectations.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety annd hygiene standards across all hotel and dining operations.
* Analyze market trends, guest feedback, and competitor activities to continuosly refine and improve the hotel offerings.
Skills
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Knowledge of human resources practices to assist with recruitment, training, and performance management
* Strong customer service skills with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
* Knowledge of hospitality industry trends and best practices
* Extensive experience in a senior management role within the hospitality industry with a strong emphasis on food and beverage operations.
* Proven experience in managing and executing nightly entertainment programs.
* Proficient in hotel management software and other relevant tools
