Thorndale Family Centre provides support for families and individuals who are experiencing homelessness and have multiple and complex needs. Our role is to provide a safe psychologically informed environment to stay and support families and individuals through a Harm Reduction approach, based on trauma informed practice.
The Support Worker at Thorndale Life house is critical to providing support within our service for our clients. Thorndale Life house has 35 self-contained, furnished flats, consisting of 31 flats and 4 single rooms for females. We provide 24 hour accommodation for families and single women who find themselves in need of short term accommodation. Support will be given to address individual needs, enabling clients to achieve positive life changes and ultimately empower them to lead a more sustainable lifestyle
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the delivery of support to homeless clients with complex needs, using Harm Reduction methods and Trauma Informed Practices.
2. Liaising with partner agencies to provide support and advocacy.
3. Work with clients through person-centred support planning and enabling access to a range of meaningful activities.
4. Work with clients as part of a Support Team to ensure the needs and actions within person centred plans are addressed in a professional manner.

8. Willingness to work towards registration qualification for NISCC Registration.
