Job Description:
Looking for the next step in your career? Do you enjoy a variety of technical challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment? By joining our UK Lifecycle Services team as an Application Support Engineer, you will support our customers through a blend of upgrades, application deployments, and maintenance activities on their DeltaV DCS/SIS. You will primarily engage our Process Systems and Solutions (PSS) customers within a region of the UK, including offshore installations, to build relationships and become their trusted adviser. You may also be required to support elsewhere within Emerson's Northern Europe Region. We deploy a wide variety of products from the DeltaV portfolio, with a significant Cybersecurity focus, including Backup & Recovery, Patch Management, Endpoint Security, and Application Whitelisting. You will complete certification paths for these products to deploy and maintain them. We also support customers with maintenance and incident resolution activities, and you'll be part of the on-call team providing 24/7 emergency response to several UK customers. These activities will require you to travel regularly to customer sites (average approximately 60% to 70% of your time).
If this sounds like an exciting job for you, we encourage you to join our team!
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
* Establish a deep understanding of DeltaV, its complementary products, and the infrastructure on which it is deployed;
* Take ownership of deployment projects—from proposal and design to site execution;
* Perform maintenance tasks on customer systems;
* Support the sales team to promote and sell products and services in our portfolio;
* Be included in the on-call rota, ready to respond to customer emergencies;
* Embrace the "Think Customer" culture and build positive relationships with our customers.
Who You Are:
You build customer relationships. You align words and actions to model reliability. You stay on top of new communications technologies. You try different solutions for problems and learn from the results.
For This Role, You Will Need:
* Enjoys being hands-on with installing and maintaining hardware and software on customer sites;
* Is comfortable interacting with customers;
* Understands computer, network, and control system architectures, including Virtualisation;
* Is capable of installing Microsoft Windows and DeltaV applications;
* Resolves issues calmly and in a structured manner, knows their limits, and calls on support from others when needed;
* Can write project and report documents;
* Is flexible to meet customer demands, including occasional offshore work, unsociable hours, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
* Communication and collaboration skills.
