The Montefiore Hospital are looking to appoint a Health and Safety Administrator & Waste Lead to join their established team. The successful applicant will support the Health and Safety Officer in coordinating and implementing the delivery of Health, Safety and Risk strategies at the facility, you will also ensure that the operational Management of Waste is managed in accordance with WM 01 Waste Management Policy, ensuring a safe workplace for all employees & visitors. Key Responsibilities: All administration requirements for the maintenance of the Health & Safety Management System Collation of H&S incidents from Datix reports including trends, near misses, etc Redirecting of general enquiries that are sent to the Health and Safety Officer, to members of the health and safety team as required Taking and directing telephone calls to the appropriate H&S person, taking messages or dealing with the enquiry in a professional and efficient manner Updating local health and safety arrangements / policies as required and distributing throughout the facility Maintenance of Hospital Wide Action Plan spread sheet, and follow up on outstanding actions as directed by the Health and Safety officer Administration of the Health &Safety Flash alerts, responding to central health and safety team within the time frame of 7 days and collation of departmental responses Health & Safety Training - records administrator; assist with course registration, issuing certificates as required Advise the Health and Safety Officer if actions or risk assessments are not being managed in a timely manner Accurately take and distribute minutes of all meetings Assisting the Health and Safety Officer in conducting the quarterly hospital health and safety monitoring inspections Assisting the Health and Safety Officer in ensuring that there are adequate inductions and health & safety training arrangements Coordinating and arranging safety training and monitoring mandatory eLearning Assisting with health and safety questions that arise from internal and external audits by external enforcement agencies Support and advise staff in Waste Management processes Ensuring that there are suitable and sufficient storage arrangements for different types of waste Ensure that there are suitable and sufficient, clinical and general waste bins in place around the hospital Ensure there are recycling processes in place Who we are looking for: Experience of working in a similar position in a healthcare setting Health & Safety related qualification Minimum 3 years of administration experience Understanding of Health & Safety and Risk Legislation Competent user of the MS Office suite of products in order to meet the requirements of the role Ability to understand and manage effectively the impact of competing pressures and conflicting priorities Must be proactive and able to self-motivate Strong verbal and written communication skills Good interpersonal and team working skills Hours: Full Time 37.5hrs pw Contract: Permanent Benefits: We offer employees a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package which includes but is not limited to: 35 days annual leave inclusive of bank holiday Employer and employee contributory pension with flexible retirement options ‘Spire for you’ reward platform - discount and cashback for over 1000 retailers Free Bupa wellness screening Private medical insurance Life assurance Our Values: We are extremely proud of our heritage in private healthcare and of our values as an organisation: Driving clinical excellence Doing the right thing Caring is our passion Keeping it simple Delivering on our promises Succeeding and celebrating together Our people are our difference; its their dedication, warmth and pursuit of excellence that sets Spire Healthcare apart.
