An exciting opportunity has come up for a Registered Manager for a home providing accommodation and support to newly arrived Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking (UAS) children in Deal, Kent.
The Reception and Safe Care Services are LA owned, Ofsted regulated, children's homes and supported accommodation, collectively termed Reception Centres. The Reception Centres, and the services they provide to children, are run by a diverse team of managers and workers, who are all committed to ensuring children are protected and supported to take the first steps in their journey to a more permanent home elsewhere in the UK.
This role requires Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent.

Salary: £50,239 - £58,491 with the addition payments:
£3,000 Children's Social Work Market Premium ( 2 installments of £1,500)
£2,000 Service Related Market Premium for Years 1, 2 and 3
£4,000 one payment of a Golden Hello
£1,000 one off payment if successful Ofsted registration is achieved.
This equates to Yr 1 salary of up to £68,000Key Duties and Responsibilities
To ensure that each young person is assessed for need and has a formally developed Care Plan, ensuring the involvement of the young person and his / her family or relatives, or an advocate, as required. To ensure that appropriate individual care is given to each young person, in accordance with the Care Plans
In consultation with the Responsible Authority's Social Worker and Senior Care Staff, as appropriate, to develop individual Care Plans for new young people and to ensure their formal review on a regular and pre-planned basis.
To ensure that all duties undertaken by reporting staff are performed to required standards, and that all such staff contribute in a positive manner to provide a happy, efficient and homely atmosphere within the Home.
To ensure the provision of adequate staff cover for all shifts in line with Care Standards requirements. To assist in the preparation of duty rotas as needed.
To assist the Manager in the selection, screening and recruitment of staff.(contact for full responsibilities)
Candidate Requirements:
Level 5 or above
ICT Skills
Good understanding and awareness of working with children
Knowledge of dignity at work policies - anti discrimination practices, bullying and harassment
Strong people and operational management skills
Strong working knowledge of legislation, regulation and responsible authority guidelines in line with the effective running of a home environment
Strong working knowledge of applicable H&S, C.O.S.H.H and Fire regulations
Understanding of employment/equal opportunities legislation.
Management within a regulatory environment with experience of self-assessment and audit systems.
