KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-To act as deputy to the Clinical Nurse Manager as required.
-Supporting the Clinical Nurse Manager in providing a unified approach to high standards of
patient care.
-To create an environment that promotes excellence in nursing practice and empowers staff to
develop high levels of clinical skills and autonomy.
-Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their
families.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. RGN/NMC Registered
2. Relevant post registration qualification in haematology
3. Assessors/Mentorship qualifications/Teaching qualification
Desirable criteria
4. Advanced communication skills
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
5. •Minimum of 18 months of Haem-Oncology Experience in an Acute Clinical Setting
Desirable criteria
6. Experience in an outpatient Day Care setting
7. Previous experience as Band 6 staff
Skills, Abilities and Attributes
Essential criteria
8. Cannulation and phlebotomy
9. Competent in the care and management of CVADs
10. IT skills
Desirable criteria
11. Ability to deliver highly sensitive information
