About the Client
Our client is a leading name in the demolition and enabling works sector, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.
Roles/Responsibilities
Produce applications for payment, including valuation of variations and loss and/or expense.
Manage interim payment agreements and monitor payment notices.
Prepare and manage project budgets in collaboration with contracts managers and the operations director.
Oversee monthly reporting and Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) processes.
Monitor project budgets against costs and projections.
Handle subcontractor procurement, from enquiries and orders to payments and final account agreements.
Assist in the preparation of tenders.
Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.
Advise contracts managers on commercial matters, including variations and delays.
Conduct site visits to monitor potential variations and maintain site records.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Prepare detailed commercial reports to reflect project risks and opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the demolition or enabling works sectors.
Strong understanding of JCT Standard Forms of Contract.
Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to communicate financial and contractual matters clearly.
Experience in subcontract procurement and cost management.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a professional qualification (MRICS or MCIOB preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and finance systems.
Full UK Driving Licence.
