KS2 Teaching Assistant – Burnley
£13.75 - £15.00 per hour | Term Time Only | Full-Time Role
Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in their school experience? A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Burnley is seeking a dedicated Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant team.
Role Overview:
This rewarding role involves working closely with KS2 pupils, supporting both whole-class learning and targeted interventions. The successful candidate will also support children with SEN (Special Educational Needs) or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, as part of their weekly timetable. Experience in these areas is desirable, though not essential, as ongoing support and CPD are provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils, including those with SEN/SEMH needs
Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Monitor and report on pupil progress
Support with classroom organisation and behaviour management
Previous experience working in a primary school setting (preferred)
Understanding of or interest in SEN/SEMH support
A caring, patient, and proactive attitude
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for education and pupil development
Supportive school leadership and welcoming staff
