This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR DAY
As a Quality Inspector, your day will involve performing precision inspections using advanced tools like Hexagon CMMs and Zeiss 3D scanners. You'll interpret complex drawings and standards, ensure compliance with customer requirements, and document results meticulously. You’ll also play a key role in supporting cross-functional teams with inspection expertise, identifying and resolving quality issues, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
1. Perform inspections using a variety of tools, including Hexagon CMMs (PC-DMIS), Zeiss 3D scanners, manual tools, and visual inspection techniques.
2. Interpret drawings and standards confidently to ASME, ISO, and internal/customer requirements.
3. Report and manage quality issues through non-conformance processes.
4. Document inspection results using Excel and Zeiss Piweb to ensure traceability and compliance.
5. Maintain integrity and high standards in all inspection activities.
6. Conduct 5S and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities within the department.
7. Provide inspection-related support and advice to colleagues across the organization.
8. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and quality standards.
WHAT YOU BRING
Preferred skills and experience:
1. Broad inspection experience, including non-conformance handling, reporting, approval/rejection, and identifying appropriate inspection methods.
2. Strong capability in manual and computerised measurement techniques.
3. Confident in interpreting technical drawings and standards (ASME, ISO).
4. Experience with CMM operation (PC-DMIS preferred but not essential).
5. Experience with 3D scanning (Zeiss Inspect preferred but not essential).
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
7. Competency in IT systems, including ERP, MS Office, and basic CAD understanding.
8. Familiarity with inspecting castings, additive manufactured parts, and machined parts is advantageous.
