You will have medical typing qualifications and previous experience as a Medical Secretary. You will have excellent communication skills and be particularly caring and understanding. Experience in the use of Medisec, Winscribe Digital Dictation, PAS, and e-Referral would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job
To manage the office administration of the Consultants and designated medical staff, and provide an efficient and effective secretarial service. The post-holder acts as the first point of contact for all forms of communication for the Consultant and their team. The post requires excellent organisational skills, medical audio typing, and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 5 GCSE's or equivalent, grade C or above. Must include English.
* Typing qualifications to RSAIII standard.
* Computer literate to ECDL standard or equivalent.
* AMSPAR Diploma.
Knowledge and Skills
* Medical terminology.
* Fast and accurate audio-typing.
* Good communicator - able to deal with people at all levels, including where there are barriers to understanding, using tact, diplomacy, and persuasion.
* Effective organisational skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive information without compromising confidentiality or trust.
* Knowledge of Medisec.
* Experience with Patient Management System.
* Aware of NHS policies.
Experience
* Previous experience as a Medical Secretary.
* Hospital-based experience.
