Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a LaboratoryBusiness Support Coordinator to join our professional team in providing businesssupport to the Operational Management Team for Blood Sciences. The candidatemust have knowledge and experience of working in a Blood Sciences Laboratoryand be familiar with discipline specific terminology as well as have excellentskills in data analysis and interpretation.
Main duties of the job
Assist andcarry out duties as directed in the following areas:
1. Data collection and compilation ofreports of workflow analysis, staffing requirements.
2. Compilation of reports of consumablesand Reagent usage.
3. Q-Pulse Updates, Audits andProcedures checking to ensure compliance.
4. Compilation of rosters.
5. Audit, completion, and follow up NCsto close.
6. Training, plans documentation,collection of data and compilation of reports.
7. Incident / Exceptions Reporting
8. Support with 5S projects andembedding processes/ inspections.
9. Administration Tasks for basic peoplemanagement documentation.

Job responsibilities
Extract, analyse, manipulate, and present business performance information, identifying issues and highlighting success.
Provide support to all areas of the laboratory in accordance with local working practices whilst maintaining high professional standards and conforming to Health and Safety regulations
Utilise Q-Pulse Quality Management System according to authorised protocols, p rovide support in the maintenance and monitoring of the QMS
Produce, implement and maintain appropriate SOPs
Train other members of staff on role specific tasks, such as data analysis and report production.
Communicate efficiently, courteously and with clarity, whether face to face, telephone or electronically with staff at all levels, internally and from service users. Matters being communicated may include technical scientific information and/or results and business sensitive material.
Coordinate, participate and engage constructively in laboratory and other meetings.
Report incidents and adverse events and enter the information in the occurrence module of Q-Pulse. Investigate incidents and report findings as appropriate.
Perform administrative tasks as required by the Blood Sciences Management Team.
Safety
To observe safety regulations and attend mandatory fire, manual handling and other courses as required
To assist in the investigation of any incidents
Participate in risk assessment monitoring.
To ensure that equipment within area of work is maintained and operated as per SOPs
To comply with policy for annual mandatory updates and have knowledge of COSHH and Lifting and Handling policies

Qualifications
Essential
1. Science based degree or equivalent experience plus further training
Desirable
2. Knowledge and experience of working within a blood science laboratory
3. Good working knowledge of laboratory-specific computer applications
4. Advanced Microsoft application training
5. Lean/STS training and experience

6. Proven knowledge and experience within a Blood Sciences laboratory, understanding discipline specific terminology.
7. Demonstrate ability to think critically and skilled in analysis of complex information.
8. Experience and understanding of working in a regulated or accredited setting.
9. High level knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Word,
10. High degree of accuracy, and interpretive skills
11. Empathetic attitude towards customers, service users and/or patients
12. Able to project a professional, corporate, commercial attitude and image.
13. Good problem-solving skills
14. Ability to communicate with a wide range of levels of staff and user organisations including technical information accurately verbally, written and electronically.
