We're searching for an experienced Finance Manager to drive financial strategy, governance, and operational excellence.
As Finance Manager, you will be at the heart of managing and strengthening the financial health of Care Control Systems Ltd. Reporting directly to the Senior Management Team, you will take ownership of financial planning, reporting, compliance, and operational controls, ensuring the company scales efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic financial guidance to the senior leadership team and operational managers.
* Drive financial performance, focusing on cost management and contract performance.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including IFRS 15 and other accounting standards.
* Lead initiatives to improve financial reporting consistency, efficiency, and automation.
Role Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
* Oversee monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and insight-driven analysis.
* Produce high-quality management accounts with detailed commentary.
* Provide cash flow forecasting, financial analysis, and budgeting support to guide business decisions.
* Maintain financial control and governance, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal policies.
Financial Operations & Compliance
* Oversee the full finance lifecycle for an SME (turnover approx. £3M), leveraging digital accounting tools.
* Full management of accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments, invoicing, and aged debtor management.
* Handle HMRC VAT reporting and ensure tax compliance.
* Handle R&D Tax Credit claims, ensuring all eligible research and development activities are correctly identified and claimed in accordance with HMRC guidelines.
* Administer monthly payroll and employee benefit reporting.
* Maintain bank and balance sheet reconciliations and oversee external audits.
* Act as the key liaison for external stakeholders, including chartered accountants, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
Process & System Improvements
* Identify and implement financial system and process improvements for a robust and streamlined finance function.
* Ensure strong internal controls, risk management, and compliance across financial operations.
* Champion automation and digital tools to enhance financial reporting efficiency.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant within an SME.
* Strong understanding of IFRS 15 long-term contract accounting and financial reporting.
* Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems and digital accounting tools, preferably Xero and Zoho Books (but not essential).
* Experience in cash flow forecasting and financial analysis.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
* Track record of process improvements, driving efficiencies, and managing financial controls.
* Experience in managing change initiatives and supporting business growth.
* Hands-on experience managing payment processing platforms such as Stripe and GoCardless for payment processing and subscription billing accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / ACMA) or Qualified by Experience QBE with equivalent experience.
* The role would be well suited to a candidate either part/fully AAT/professionally qualified, or with suitable vocational experience (QBE).
* Experience gained within an SME environment, or an end-to-end accounting environment would be desirable.

Remuneration
* Base Salary: £40,000-45,000 per annum

* Working in a highly diverse, fast-paced, and experienced team, collaborative working is important to us. Therefore, we require 5 days a week spent in the office at this stage. This arrangement is reviewable in later phases, with the potential to transition to a flexible hybrid approach, allowing a maximum of 1 day a week working from home between Tuesday and Thursday. Hybrid working is flexible around business commitments and is offered as support, although business needs will always take precedence.
