Location: North West England, or prepared to travel at least once a month (must have valid UK driving licence)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 base + commission + 6 weeks holiday (not including bank holidays)

As part of that growth, we’re looking for a proactive and experienced Business Development Manager to help take them to the next level. Working closely with the Founder, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to be part of building something from the early stages, as the principal sales hire. Key Responsibilities:
* Sales Growth: Drive new business opportunities by identifying and securing new clients across the sector.
* Sales Process Management: Manage the full end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to closing, ensuring a seamless buyer journey – nurturing those relationships (average 6-month sales cycle).
* Consultative Selling: Build strong relationships with prospects, using your expertise to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
* Commercial Acumen: Focus on maximising the potential return on every opportunity, in terms of revenue, volume and longevity of contract.
* Client Handover: Once a sale is secured, hand over clients to the CRM team for ongoing support and ensure all relevant information is captured.
* Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in training, learning & development, and the wider professional services industry to ensure we remain competitive and relevant.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure clear communication and a unified approach to client engagement.
* CRM Management: Keep the CRM system up-to-date with all correspondence, leads, and activity to ensure accurate reporting and follow-up.
Ideal Candidate:
* A senior-level professional with proven experience in business development within the professional services sector.
* Experience in learning and development or training services is highly desirable.
* A consultative approach to sales with the ability to understand client needs and offer tailored solutions.
* Takes accountability for achieving sales, recognising that a hands-on approach in a growing business is required.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a proactive mindset and the ability to work independently.
* Comfortable using CRM systems to manage and track leads and client interactions.
* Ability to work flexibly within a small, close-knit team, supporting other areas of the business as needed.
