We are delighted to be supporting a local school in the recruitment of an Office Manager. The role is term time only so the salary is the full salary for 40 weeks. This will suit someone with children or other commitments who want to have the holidays off with the children.

We are looking to appoint a highly effective, energetic, experienced Office Manager who has the confidence and ability to be the key person in our busy school office.
As the School Office Manager, you will have responsibility for the day to day running of the School Office functions and line management of other office staff.
Main Duties:
1. Manage the efficient and effective running of the general office as one of the school's main points of public contact, as well as the centre of daily administration.
2. Provide for the preparation and production of all school records and publications including additions to the website.
3. Responsible for the school's attendance, absence and transfer procedures and ensuring these procedures meet school and Trust requirements.
4. Manage the schools admission procedures in liaison with the schools admissions service.
5. Manage annual admissions process in liaison with EYFS Lead.
6. Ensure that school registration systems are developed and correctly administered and report on the quality of the registers.
7. Deal with highly confidential and sensitive issues.
8. Manage and ensure the smooth running of the school's reception, postal, telephones, stationery and hospitality facilities.
9. Oversee parental communications ensuring appropriate communications are issued to parents, staff and pupils as required.
10. Assist and liaise effectively with external Auditors, customers and suppliers to ensure optimum performance of the school.
11. Assist with supervision care and welfare of pupils as required.
12. Produce recruitment correspondence and documentation, in liaison with the headteacher and central team i.e. Preparation of job information packs, letters to interview, reference etc.
13. Maintain the schools single central record ensuring adherence to Keeping Children Safe in Education and Safer recruitment.
14. Provide all necessary documentation to the central team to ensure all personnel procedures relating to the appointment and payment of teaching and support staff including addendum to contracts take place.
15. With the support of the central team and Headteacher process sickness absence for teachers and support staff ensuring appropriate documentation is uploaded to the HR system.
Required Skills:
1. Substantial experience of working in a business environment or experience working at middle management level with supervisory experience within a School or Local Authority.
2. NVQ Level 3 or relevant subject or equivalent qualification or experience.
3. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
4. Commitment and willingness to undertake further training, assessment and development dependent upon existing qualifications and requirements of the post.
5. A Knowledge of Equality & Diversity issues.
6. Ability to understand and relate well to children and adults.
7. Ability to organise, lead and motivate staff.
8. Ability to motivate, persuade, negotiate and influence others.
9. Ability to identify own training needs and willingness to participate in training and development opportunities.
