Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated, experienced Occupational Therapist to join the First Response Therapies (FRT) Team in a static position following new investment in the team. The post is based at Aintree University Hospital involving acute assessment and management of patients within the urgent care setting (Emergency Department, Frailty, Acute Medical and Surgical Assessment areas) preventing deconditioning, supporting rapid hospital discharge and preventing unnecessary hospital admissions. The role includes community based activity for at risk patients utilising a 'discharge to assess' model of care.We aim to work closely with the Multi disciplinary Team working at the front door of the acute hospital to enhance frailty services and and the ambulatory care model. The role requires excellent prioritisation, organisational and communication skills alongside effective teamworking. An ability to demonstrate assertion and creativity with assessment and treatment planning and methods of service delivery are essential in this dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role requires flexibility working across a 7 day roster pattern, 8am-8pm. Previous clinical experience within an urgent care setting is desirable.
