About the Role - We are looking for a Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to contribute to this well-respected service, providing leadership within the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team.
Responsibilities
* Work autonomously as a speech and language therapist within the multidisciplinary team.
* Assess how communication challenges impact daily life and provide interventions accordingly.
* Collaborate with the individual and their support network to overcome communication barriers.
* Conduct assessments and create management and rehabilitation plans, seeking specialist assessments when needed.
* Provide training to staff and the service user’s social network.
* Play an integral role in the development of the service and the organization.
Qualifications
* A Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC Registered
* Achieved Dysphagia Competencies
* Specialist knowledge of SaLT interventions for acquired brain injuries (ABI), such as social communication, cognitive communication, and communication partner training.
* Experience managing complex dysphagia in an adult neurology caseload
* Minimum of 4 years of experience, including complex case management
