We are seeking a confident and ambitious B2B Sales & Business Development Associate to join our team and support us in expanding our growth into new territories. This position perfectly suits someone who wishes to leverage their technical expertise and interest in modern web technologies, transitioning into a tech sales role to generate new business and build strong alliance partnerships with system integrators. This role is tailored to suit perfectly a current student at the University of Leeds, and provides all the flexibility required to work alongside your studies.
Your Role
You will play a crucial role in engaging with new inbound leads and proactively working on driving new business through outbound B2B sales prospecting. In the early stages of new relationships, you will be responsible for identifying the client’s use case to determine which of our different offerings would fit best. Once requirements are clear, you will propose suitable solutions and professional service strategies (such as proof of concept or development projects), while collaboratively working with the senior sales team.
In this role, you will operate in conjunction with the product team, sales team and marketing team, by:
1. Identifying potential clients: Generate new leads through the use of sales engagement platforms such as Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other lead generation tools.
2. Building relationships: Cultivate leads with high potential and set up meetings with technical decision-makers to delve into possible opportunities.
3. Providing strong customer support: Understand business and technical requirements to advise appropriate solutions.
4. Overseeing implementation: Delivering product discovery calls, demonstrations of our solutions and initial analysis of the viability of client applications to use with our technology.
5. Developing strategic sales plan: Work closely with the marketing team to prepare and deliver product messaging explaining the value of our solutions.
6. Outbound outreach: Create captivating content for our website and social media platforms like LinkedIn to boost visibility and audience engagement.
7. Networking: Join and participate in online user communities, identify and attend industry events to build connections and expand our alliance partnerships.
What we are looking for
This part-time position is perfectly suited for undergraduate or master's students pursuing computer software studies or similar fields. The ideal candidate will be:
1. Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering or a related field, with a focus on technology.
2. Current enrolment in a related Masters program would be highly advantageous.
3. Previous experience in sales or marketing is a plus.
4. Ability to quickly learn and understand complex software products and services.
5. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, to work autonomously in a fast-paced working environment.
6. Comfortable networking and building connections, to gain access to new prospects, referrals, and potential partners.
7. Confident communication skills to sell our products, services or any other offering.
8. An organised individual who can identify and manage multiple new leads and drive qualified prospects through the sales cycle.
9. Strong time management skills to work cross-functionally, manage workload, work under limited supervision/guidance and towards deadlines.
