Job Description
The Housing Support Assistant (Housing First) will be responsible for the provision of intensive support to Housing First Clients of the Housing First project. In line with the recommendations from the Scottish Government and Rough Sleeping Action Group, the Scottish Government is committed to a transition to Rapid Rehousing for all homeless households, with Housing First becoming the first response for people experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage.
The Housing Support Assistant (Housing First) will work intensively with all households and those at risk of homelessness to provide the support that they need to maintain housing by using preventative measures. The job is focused on prevention of homelessness or further homelessness of service users on a needs led basis in collaboration with other housing support services. The post holder will also be expected to help facilitate appropriate referrals to other support agencies where appropriate.
Requirements
1. To provide intensive home management and life skills training.
2. To provide advice and support on accessing local support services.
3. To provide intensive tenancy maintenance support.
4. To implement procedures and carry out duties as directed by the Housing Support Officer (Housing First).
5. To keep thorough records of contact with Housing First clients and to ensure that these are kept updated and that they are comprehensive for audit purposes.
6. To maintain the continual professional required for SSSC registration.

The Individual
1. Experience of working with people with multiple needs.
2. Experience of assessing support requirements & identifying risk.
3. Experience of multidisciplinary working.
4. SVQ3 Health & Social Care PDA Supervision.
5. Registration as a Supervisor with SSSC.
6. Ability to work on own initiative.
7. Ability to work as part of a team.
8. Ability to organise, plan, and monitor workloads.
9. Supervisory Skills.
10. Effective communication skills both oral and written.
11. Assessment skills including the ability to work with clients to agree, implement and monitor Individual Support Plan.
12. The ability to gain the confidence of vulnerable households and ability to build up good rapport with them.
13. The ability to work in a multidisciplinary manner.
14. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car.
15. Ability to relate to people with multiple needs.
16. Ability to be non-judgemental.
17. Home visits to clients in Own Tenancies, Temporary Accommodation, and Hostels.
18. Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the service.
19. Ability to work in an open plan office.
20. Ability to work in different offices depending on the needs of the service.

Starting Salary: £27,426
£14.55 per hour
