We seek to appoint a Portering and Security Officer. Post-holders will undertake a variety of vital roles for College, including setting up rooms for events, ensuring the day-to-day physical security of the site, performing minor emergency maintenance/repair tasks, providing initial first aid, and coordinating security and fire alarms and services.

Hours: The rota operates on a six-week basis with an average of 40 hours per week over the six-week period. Working shifts are Monday to Sunday, with three core shift patterns (of 8.5 hours each): 0600-1430, 0930-1800 & 1400-2230. These shifts will be scheduled on a rota basis. Please refer to the rota document and the job description for the available working patterns; however, weekly rotas are subject to change from time to time.
The salary: Starting salary will be £25,708.80 per annum, moving to £26,582.40 per annum after passing on-the-job training and probation.
Night Shifts: Portering and Security Officers work up to 11 night shifts per year to cover the annual leave of the Night Security Officers, between the hours of 8pm to 6:30am. Hours worked on a night shift will be paid at a higher rate; full details are in the job description.
A full clean driving licence is required, and experience of working in a school would be desirable.
