Harlow Council is looking to recruit a Disabled Facilities Grant Officer with experience and technical competency. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and dedicated individual to join our private sector housing team. Your skills and judgement will be valuable to the team, and in return, we offer variety and opportunities to stretch your capabilities.
You will hit the ground running and be encouraged to develop existing practices and take forward new ways of working. Flexibility in working patterns and practices will be required.
The role involves the administration of disabled facilities grants and housing assistance grants/loans to improve housing conditions within the district. You will have technical expertise in housing construction and adaptations, survey dwellings, formulate specifications, and monitor completion of works to enable payment of financial assistance. You will ensure dwellings are assessed and upgraded, maintained, and adapted in compliance with the Council's policies and relevant legislation and regulations.
This is a good opportunity to further your knowledge and experience, and the Council will offer appropriate support to the successful candidate in their professional development. We will consider applications for job share or candidates who have relevant experience in other areas wishing to move into the role of a disabled facilities grants officer.
Join us to receive a host of benefits such as a supportive team, flexible working arrangements, generous leave entitlement, local government pension scheme, payment of professional fees, and training/development opportunities.
