We are currently seeking a passionate and compassionate Educational Health Care Assistant to join our dynamic team.
As an Educational Health Care Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers, and healthcare professionals to provide tailored care and support to students with medical, physical, and emotional needs. Your role will be key in ensuring students can fully participate in school activities, both inside and outside the classroom, while receiving appropriate medical support when required.
- Assist students with medical needs, including administering medications, supporting mobility, and managing personal care routines.
- Work alongside teachers and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide tailored support in the classroom.
- Provide physical and emotional support to students, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Monitor students' well-being, maintaining accurate records of care and interventions.
- Support students during break times, ensuring they are fully integrated into social and extracurricular activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals regarding the health and welfare of students.
- Support the development and implementation of health care plans in collaboration with the school's medical and educational staff.
- Previous experience working with children or young adults, particularly in a healthcare or educational setting.
- A strong understanding of medical conditions, disabilities, and learning difficulties.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature with a commitment to improving students' well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A relevant qualification in health and social care, or a willingness to work towards one.
- Experience with first aid and emergency procedures is desirable.
