Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cover Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream secondary school in the Dulwich area. This fixed-term role involves providing tailored support to a disabled child, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream setting.
Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support to a disabled student, adapting to their individual needs.
* Assist with personal care and mobility requirements, if necessary.
* Support classroom learning under the direction of the teacher, ensuring inclusion and engagement.
* Help with social integration and emotional well-being during school activities.
* Foster independence and confidence in the student while maintaining a safe, supportive environment.
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement support strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
* Previous experience as a TA, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or in a similar role, ideally with SEND experience.
* Understanding of disabilities (physical, learning, or sensory) and strategies to support inclusion.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to overcoming barriers to learning.
* Strong communication skills to work with students, staff, and parents.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching & Learning) are desirable but not essential.
