The CDD Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with AML regulations and policies by conducting thorough customer due diligence. Responsibilities include onboarding new customers, transaction monitoring, and periodic KYC reviews for existing customers. The role requires strong decision-making skills and the ability to provide well-documented rationale aligned with regulatory standards, such as JMLSG guidelines. Key Responsibilities Screening and Risk Assessment Conduct thorough reviews of overnight screening alerts, researching matches against sanctions and criminal lists to confirm or disprove links to bank customers. Apply AML regulations and JMLSG requirements to ensure compliance. Payment Due Diligence Perform detailed due diligence on incoming and outgoing overseas payments using various resources, assigning appropriate risk ratings to transactions. Prepare reports for managerial review when high-risk cases are identified, including documentation on sanctions or potential entity matches. Onboarding and Account Reviews Review new account applications and trigger events, ensuring all necessary documents are accurate and complete. Verify ID and V documents comply with AML policies and conduct any required additional searches. Oversee periodic account reviews based on assigned risk levels, including enhanced due diligence for high-risk customers and PEPs, documenting any material changes. Documentation and Reporting Request and follow up on outstanding customer documentation to meet AML requirements, escalating unresolved cases to the Team Manager. Maintain accurate and updated customer records. Ensure all audit reports are actioned within agreed timelines to mitigate financial or reputational risks. Compliance and Advisory Provide clear advice and guidance on AML and KYC legislation and processes to both internal teams and customers. Challenge existing policies and procedures based on personal expertise to drive improvements. Customer Interaction and Collaboration Respond promptly to customer queries, meeting SLAs and KPIs while delivering a professional and efficient service. Attend meetings with prospective and current customers to explain AML and onboarding requirements, ensuring clear understanding of roles and responsibilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver excellent customer service. Training and Support Deliver AML and customer due diligence training to colleagues and stakeholders. Offer peer support and guidance to less experienced staff, fostering a supportive team environment. Contribute to the achievement of team and individual goals as agreed with the Line Manager. Other Duties Sign off high-value transactions, unusual activity, and third-party receipts after completing appropriate due diligence. Escalate unresolved or complex cases to the Team Leader, providing comprehensive investigation details and rationale. Undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.
