PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Hospitality Manager is responsible for all hospitality operations, including event delivery, management of the event operations team, health & safety management for events, compliance with current food hygiene standards, alcohol legislation, and COSHH requirements. This role ensures a high standard of customer service and that events are consistently delivered. The role holder will be expected to keep good records of stock, inventory, staff management, and day-to-day relations with suppliers and partner organisations for the hospitality area. The role will also carry out the building Duty Manager role when required.
DUTIES
1. Lead, inspire and collaborate with corporate supervisors and assistants to deliver consistent and exceptional standards in event operations.
2. Run the day-to-day delivery of events and control of administration behind event and hospitality activities.
3. Responsible for coordinating all staff training, coaching and development within the department.
4. Ensure that the department’s administration, accounting, cash handling and stock control procedures are adhered to.
5. Maintain positive and collaborative relationships and communication with stakeholders.
6. Responsibility for cost of goods sold, department wage costs, renewals costs and any other additional costs to the business in relation to hospitality operations.
7. Timely and accurate orders for event supplies and provisions.
8. Regularly auditing the hospitality operations to ensure correct procedures are adopted.
9. Achieve department KPIs to reach targets and support department growth.
10. Liaising closely with the Events Team and Kitchen Team.
11. Complying strictly with all legal requirements regarding liquor licensing.
12. Working with the Head of Hospitality to foster new opportunities for Dynamic Earth.
13. Taking on the role of Duty Manager when required.
14. Any other associated duties necessary for the smooth running of the department.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES
1. Relevant experience in a similar role.
2. Demonstrated success in managing corporate events.
3. Confident in managing a full team of operational staff.
4. Well organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload.
5. Self-motivated and confident to work with autonomy.
6. Financially literate with a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and budget management.
7. A passion for food and customer service.
8. Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective.
