Senior Category Manager - Indirect, FM, Logistics, Marketing | £65,000 to £80,000 | 20% bonus | healthcare | Pension | + further benefits | Reading - 2 days a week - 5 minutes from Reading station | A UK Technology and Communications business
This is one of a few new roles working for a really interesting UK brand who are transforming the way business's and people communicate with each other. After a recently appointed, new Procurement Director who has joined to build a strategic procurement function in order to support the company's ambitious growth plans.
This role will own the Non-IT areas of spend, which have some big transformational projects on the horizon across multiple areas and sites of the company. In this role you will manage and get involved in the likes of; FM (hard & soft), Maintenance, Logistics Engineering Services, Field Services, Energy, Marketing & HR
Role and responsibilities:
* Reporting into the Procurement Director who has joined the business to transform and grow the procurement team
* Create relevant category strategies through to the delivery and performance including year on year annualised savings
* Lead and manage a more junior member of the team
* Develop category plans and strategies to ensure alignment for the group, leveraging suppliers to support local offices
* Support the development of category strategies to a clear and prioritised pipeline of sourcing projects
* Engage, manage and influence senior stakeholders from Director to Board level to ensure buy-in, utilising strong market knowledge
* Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a rounded knowledge of a suppliers performance
* Monitor supplier risk and performance through reporting tools and business feedback
* On top over delivering strategic projects, ensure the business is getting the best service in line with cost efficiency
Experience and requirements:
* Extensive category management experience in the FM and/or General Indirect
* Worked for a a large and complex business, looking after large spend volumes
* Ability to engage, negotiate and influence senior stakeholders up to Director level+
* Strong stakeholder management, using different approaches to type, level and maturity of relationship
* Analytical mindset and have strong communication skills to present ideas to the business
* Worked in a large and cross-functional procurement team
* MCIPS qualification nice to have, but not essential
