Role title Head of Continuing Airworthiness Aer Lingus UK Part CAMO Your role A regulatory requirement of our Aer Lingus UK Air Operator Certificate (AOC) is to have a Part CAMO organisation responsible for continuing airworthiness management of the aircraft fleet operating under the AOC. Leadership of the CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation) team is provided by the Head of Continuing Airworthiness as CAA approved Nominated Postholder for Continuing Airworthiness. This role reports to the Aer Lingus UK AOC Accountable Manager and has a dotted reporting line to the Chief Technical Officer. The Head of Airworthiness as the person nominated with responsibility for continuing airworthiness for Aer Lingus UK shall be ultimately responsible to the accountable manager, meet with the UK CAA Fitness of Character policy framework and the requirements of AMC1 CAMO.A.305(c). The Head of Airworthiness has responsibility of ensuring that the organisation always complies with the applicable continuing airworthiness management, airworthiness review and permit to fly requirements of the fleet, including management and oversight of all subcontracted CAMO functions and contracted maintenance. Principle Accountabilities / Responsibilities: Develop and manage an effective airworthiness management system to ensure compliance with UK CAA regulations. Maintain Aer Lingus UK Ltd’s Part-CAMO approval and obtain additional approvals as required Ensure compliance with Part-CAMO and Part-M regulations for all subcontracted airworthiness tasks. Oversee human factors considerations in continuing airworthiness management activities Manage safety risks and compliance within maintenance operations Lead and develop CAMO teams, ensuring staff competency and professional development Provide regular updates to the Accountable Manager and Chief Technical Officer on airworthiness matters. Oversee the development, evaluation, and implementation of the Maintenance and Reliability Programs. Negotiate and oversee contracts/subcontracts relevant to Part-CAMO approval. Ensure the accuracy of airworthiness records, including AD, SB, repair status, and service life-limited components. Maintain oversight of contracted maintenance organizations to ensure compliance with performance standards. Drive continuous improvement in procedures through digitization, AMOS capabilities, and AI integration. Ensure compliance with hazard reporting and participation in the Safety Action Group. Enforce Airworthiness Directives and risk-based decision-making for non-mandatory aircraft modifications. Lead the technical delivery and redelivery of aircraft to the UK AOC. Monitor and ensure timely resolution of non-conformances from audits and regulatory reviews. Actively participate in corporate safety governance, including the Corporate Safety Review Board. Your qualifications and key criteria Essential Qualifications/Experience Engineering degree with 5 years of experience, or Part-66 Licensed Engineer with 12 years of experience. Minimum two years' experience in managing commercial contracts. In-depth knowledge of Part-CAMO, Part-M, Part-T, Part-21G&J, and Part-145 regulations. Compliance with UK CAA Fitness of Character policy. Eligible to work in the UK and pass a 5-year security background check. Essential competencies/skills Leadership, People management and project management experience. Ability to lead, inspire, manage and motivate a team Excellent communication skills with experience in communicating with external and internal stakeholders including Senior Regulators, Government Officials and Executive management. Excellent Planning skills Ability to manage/resolve conflict. Desirable Criteria Proven capability to manage aircraft transitions, ensuring aircraft meet the required regulatory and business standards/requirements. In-depth understanding of supplier contracts and financial terms to ensure that services are delivered per agreed service levels and within budget.
