About the Role The Business Intelligence Analyst reports to the Business Intelligence Team Lead and is responsible for delivery of automated and ad-hoc reporting requirements from Maples Group in house applications. They are expected to have breadth and depth of knowledge in all Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies and data visualisation techniques. Primary responsibilities include: • End to end Business Intelligence development. Source data from the most appropriate location, prepare that data, create appropriate visuals and deploy it for analysis • Gather requirements from stakeholders and create reports based on specifications created in partnership with Business Analysts and business representatives • Take ownership of delivery of reporting projects • Design, write and implement processes necessary to integrate data from new sources, and help to design associated reports and dashboards • Create documentation to support solutions and enable handover and support • Support existing reporting solutions by delivering enhancements and bug fixes escalated via the IT Service Desk • Work to ensure the existing reporting remains stable and identified issues are investigated and resolved • Collaborate with the Scrum Team to deliver to project and product commitments • Continuously improve current skills and keep up to date with emerging technology trends • Contribute to prioritisation discussions to ensure the most important work is tackled first • Contribute to drive the creation of relevant policies and procedures as part of the Business Intelligence Community of Practice EXPERIENCE What You Bring In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following: • Able to develop Power BI data models and visualisations • Able to develop SSRS reports and set up automated subscriptions via the reporting server • Able to write and understand T-SQL queries • Has good functional knowledge of databases including views and stored procedures • Able to effectively troubleshoot errors, drill down and determine why anomalies occur in data sets • Able to accurately document implementation details in clear and concise language • Able to write DAX and MDX to meet requirements • Ability to transform and model data to show solve business problems effectively • Able to work with large datasets • Has knowledge and understanding of database structures and relationships • Able to deploy reports correctly to the reporting server • Able to write test cases and perform testing activity • Abie to use Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs and charts • Has excellent stakeholder engagement skills, communicate effectively across all levels of the organisational hierarchy Additional skills: • Experience in working in an Agile/Scrum environment • Power BI Report Server (SSRS) or Power BI Service administration experience • Knowledge and experience with the Azure cloud, Azure SQL Server and Azure Data Factory • Understanding of Visual Studio and how to set up projects • Willingness to learn new things BENEFITS & REWARDS The most enduring professional relationships are reciprocal relationships.
