GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) to join schools in Bournemouth. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (One-to-one TA), you will provide individualised support to a student who requires additional help to access learning and reach their full potential. You will be supporting a specific student with their educational and social development. This may include assistance with classwork, helping them understand tasks, and offering emotional encouragement throughout the day. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies that cater to the individual needs of the pupil. Responsibilities for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA): Provide tailored support to a student on a one-to-one basis within the classroom. Assist with understanding class instructions and encourage engagement in learning. Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and support staff. Promote independence while offering support when required. Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation. Help adapt learning materials and classroom tasks to the student’s ability level. Build a positive and trusting relationship with the student and wider school team. 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) Qualifications: Previous experience in one-to-one support such as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant role or similar educational setting, is desirable. A degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance are preferred. A caring, calm, and supportive attitude. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Understanding of how to support students with varying learning needs.
