Duties
* Plans, directs and reviews the work of a multi-disciplined staff of wage grade trades.
* Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
* Acts as a liaison to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on maintenance, repair, and various other construction projects.
* Prepares or supervises preparation of basic information such as construction drawings, sketches, plans, cost estimates, bills of materials, detailed justifications and descriptions of scopes of work to be performed.
* Provides inspections and reports of contract performance for adherence to contract compliance, specifications, plans, government regulations, laws, and industry standards.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
To qualify for the Supervisor Engineering Technician (Wastewater Plant) GS-0802-12 position, you MUST have the one of the following Basic Occupational Requirements:
I have specialized experience including technical work in areas such as: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems.
OR
I have experience in a trade or craft that required intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents.
OR
I am certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies, an organization sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers.
AND
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of the wastewater treatment plant/sanitary distribution and installation water distribution system through wastewater treatment plant operators and industrial equipment mechanics assigned to the waterworks branch. Experience as liaison to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on maintenance, repair, and various other construction projects.
