New permanent job for a QS (M&E) Glasgow. Our Client is expanding due, to multiple project wins. They are looking to expand the commercial team based out of their offices in Edinburgh by hiring an experienced Quantity Surveyor with an MEP background to work on projects in the Western Central belt of Scotland. This is fantastic opportunity for an experienced QS with experience on projects worth £1 Million to - £20 Million seeking to further their career with an award winning business. About the role: - Working on projects across the country, but mainly in Glasgow / Western Scotland. - Cost Estimation and Budgeting, evaluate forms of contract and advise on their suitability for MEP projects - Measure quantities from plan drawings and isometrics, create detailed bills of quantities, including labour hours and material costs. - Review and manage commercial aspects of M&E projects, and identify potential commercial risks and promptly report them to management. - Compile monthly progress applications, ensuring accuracy in remeasurements, site variations, day works, and claims, along with forecasting turnover and cash flow for the projects. - You will also assist project managers with project programming commercial matters. - Collaborate with contractors and vendors, negotiating terms and conditions, along with project managers to establish accurate budgets. - Completing in-depth review of customer enquiries and attending site meetings / surveys as required (predominantly new build projects tendered, reducing site meeting and surveys). - Speaking with suppliers and specialist sub-contractors regarding quotations, from both a commercial and technical perspective, vetting them at all stages. The ideal person: - You will need proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, along with experience in Mechanical and Electrical projects - An in-depth knowledge of electrical / mechanical systems, codes, and regulations is essential for anyone applying - You need to be proficient in estimating software, ideally SEC, and you must have strong IT skills with the Microsoft Office Suite - Anyone applying needs strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities - You need to live a commutable distance to the Office in central Edinburgh area, or be willing to relocate. - Right to work in the UK is essential - no sponsorship available - A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
