What skills and experience we're looking for
Full-time, 37 hours per week including evenings and weekends on a two-weekly rota -Permanent 52-week contract
The Avenue is a day school for pupils aged 2 to 19 years with complex special needs including those with significant health needs and autism.
We are looking for a hard-working, dependable, self-motivated person to join our Team as a Site Assistant.
The key responsibilities of this role will be to ensure the safety and security of the school premises, carry out general maintenance and minor repair work, liaise with contractors, general porterage duties, lock and unlock the school premises, and deal with any unexpected emergencies.
Along with having good standards of practical DIY skills, the successful candidate will be punctual, flexible, have a ‘can do’ attitude, a good awareness of Health & Safety, and excellent communication skills.
Previous experience of working as a School Caretaker is desirable but not essential.
