Are you an existing senior manager or director with significant experience of trust taxation looking for a new challenge in a firm that supports your development?
Heading up our Trust tax team, you’ll help us to provide a first-class tax compliance and advisory service to our personal tax clients
What you'll be doing day to day
* Ensuring the work of the Trust team is compliant with legislative and ethical standards
* Assisting the team in solving client issues and ensuring they are delivered to the timescale and budget required
* Managing a team of advisors including taking a leading role in their professional development
* Liaising with clients including Trustees, Beneficiaries, individuals and other intermediaries to provide a first-class service to our clients
* Acting as principal on a portfolio of trust and HNW clients including taking responsibility for reviewing and signing out advice
* Reviewing and advising on trust accounts
* Playing an active role in marketing and developing our trust services offering
* Working with others to grow the team and our trust business
* Helping to upskill and develop our colleagues in other departments to ensure we manage risk and help with identifying opportunities for the firm
* Meeting with clients to ascertain and advise on their tax planning needs and overseeing the delivery of this work by other team members
* Working alongside the Private Client tax partners to identify key opportunities and threats within both the existing client base and externally
* Actively seeking opportunities to promote other departments within in the firm, and in particular the services of our financial planning colleagues
* Playing an active role in ensuring that work is undertaken by the right team members and departmental targets are met
* Assisting with the running of our trust corporation
About you
* Previous experience in similar role as either an experienced senior manager looking to take the next step in their career, or a director
* ATT or CTA qualified (or equivalent) with up-to-date technical knowledge. The STEP qualification is also desirable
* The ability to lead a team and inspire them to become the best advisors they can
* Highly motivated with the ability to engage with clients with very significant levels of wealth and with colleagues at all levels
* Organised and able to plan time efficiently in order to meet deadlines
* Demonstrates a creative approach to problem solving with a strong desire to succeed
