Description Transport Supervisor Role Profile Responsibility to staff and direct team For employees within the delivery teams to understand their duties, role and how this contributes to the wider organisation. Successfully meet the targets driven by the Transport Manager. Ensure the smooth running of the daily deliveries. Contribute to training and development of yourself and the delivery teams. Assist in achieving maximum customer satisfaction in accordance with NPS. Maintain responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related legal/statutory regulations, professional duties and obligations. Day to day duties Manage, direct and monitor the transport operations and overall performance of the delivery teams to increase efficiency and maximise service and performance. Day to day task such as route planning, resource allocation and management/driver supervision. Effective communication and support of the delivery teams. Maintain morale of the delivery teams through engagement and carrying out 1-2-1’s with core employees. Support the warehouse department with any transport related issues Assist the Transport Manager with recruitment, training and coaching of delivery teams. Updating and completion of spreadsheets, documents and systems. Manage, support and maintain contact and communications with internal departments, Suppliers, Managers & Stakeholders. Drive a culture of accountability, setting examples for team members and the organisation around commitment, work ethic and professionalism. Maintain accurate records. Adhere to all Wincanton policies and procedures. Support in employee investigations, return to works, welfare meetings and disciplinaries. Ensuring all employee paperwork is loaded onto Oracle (employee system) in a timely and accurate manner Ensuring new starters and leavers are processed quickly and efficiently following system processes. Required Experience Experience and understanding of logistics supply chain. Experience and understanding of the movement of vehicles and associated activities and compliance. Understanding of all relevant driving legislation including tachograph policies, driving hours and the road Traffic Act. Line management experience Understands how to use IT/technology.
