Interaction Designer

Hybrid - 2-3 Days a week onsite in Newcastle
£475pd (Outside IR35)
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Interaction Designer. The Interaction Designer will bring a comparable skill set and level of experience while stepping into a Lead/Senior role within our project teams. This position transcends traditional design work, necessitating leadership initiatives and effective guidance of team members towards achieving project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Create high-quality designs that are clear and accessible, ensuring a seamless user experience.
2. Utilise various design and prototyping software (including Sketch, Figma, and InVision) to develop user journeys and design components that are user-centric and informed by research.
3. Employ user research, data, and feedback to inform your design decisions and enhance the overall user experience.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Content Designers, User Researchers, Developers, and Product Delivery teams, to ensure design alignment with project objectives.
5. Report on and present your work to internal stakeholders and clients, providing insights and recommendations based on your design processes.
6. Engage closely with our UX & Design Team, sharing knowledge and skills, and participating in community calls and sessions to foster a supportive design culture.
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Relevant experience as an Interaction Designer or in a closely related field.
2. Familiarity with design systems/libraries, style guides, and existing patterns/guidelines.
3. Proven ability to balance the needs of key stakeholders while crafting user-centric designs and high-quality UX experiences.
4. Proficiency in design software like Sketch, Figma, and InVision.
5. Experience with prototyping languages such as HTML, Markdown, or Nunjucks.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Experience working in an Agile methodology as part of a scrum team.
