Job Description
As an Engineering Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of Shift Engineers. This role is a heavily hands on position with aspects of man management and prioritisation. Driving continuous improvement over the site, identifying points of weakness and liaising with the Engineering Manager to plan remedial activities. You will help develop the shift team members technical abilities and identify training requirements. Your leadership will foster a collaborative, innovative, and growth-oriented environment, ensuring both performance success and professional development of the team members.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and lead a team of Engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
* Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
* Develop and implement engineering best practices, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
* Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments, ensuring clear communication of goals, progress, and challenges.
* Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Production, Quality, H&S)
* Resolve technical issues as they arise, providing clear feedback
* Organise spare parts and repairs utilising the emergency contacts for any out of hours issues.
* Foster a positive team culture that encourages collaboration, productivity and continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications
* Qualified and Experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with minimum of 15 years’ experience (Mechanical or Electrical bias)
* Strong background in manufacturing with plastics industry experience desirable.
* Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing engineers.
* IOSH qualification is desirable but not essential

This is a permanent role working hours will be av.42.8hrs a week, on a continental 4on-4off shift pattern rolling days (0600 – 1800) & nights (1800 – 0600). On occasion you may need to work additional hours to adapt to business needs.
