Business Development Manager (Transportation/Rail)
Salary: £50,000 - £80,000 (+£35-40k OTE + travel allowance)
Location: UK Wide (must be open to commuting to London twice a week).
Our client, a leading provider of innovative asset integration software solutions across the transportation and infrastructure sector, is currently seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager (Transport/Rail) to join their team. The company closely partners with entities such as Network Rail, Transport for London (TfL), National Highways, Amey, and other large-scale organisations across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company goals and objectives in the rail/transport sector
Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and the competitive landscape within the rail/transport industry
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and industry partners
Lead the development of high-quality proposals and presentations to secure new contracts and projects
Drive sales growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and closing deals
Establish and manage strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance the company's market position and capabilities
Oversee the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients and partners, ensuring favourable terms and compliance with company policies
Develop and manage the business development budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve targets
Monitor and report on business development activities, performance metrics, and outcomes to senior management
Job Requirements:
Experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the rail or transportation industry
In-depth understanding of the rail and transportation sector, including industry regulations, standards, and best practices
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Proven leadership and team management abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients, partners, and attend industry events
