Rentokil Initial first engaged with Workday in 2012, and has since deployed the Product to 13 markets with more in the pipeline. Workday has become a significant area of focus for the business with a number of identified opportunities to deliver business capability and value. We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Tech Programme Manager to provide maternity leave cover for up to 12 months.
The primary focus of this role will be to maintain and execute the existing HR Technology roadmap, ensuring seamless continuity of ongoing projects and support for critical HR systems, particularly Workday. In addition, this role will include direct and indirect line management responsibilities for the HR Tech team, ensuring their development and success.
This role reports to the UKI Region & Corporate Functions IT Director and will work closely with cross-functional Directors & Functional teams in HR, Finance and IT.
Responsibilities:
1. Portfolio Management:
o Oversee the day-to-day management of the HR Tech portfolio, ensuring projects stay on track and aligned with business objectives.
o Monitor project progress, manage risks and issues, and report on portfolio health to stakeholders.
o Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
2. HR Tech Support:
o Act as the senior escalation point of contact for Workday and HR Tech related matters, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across HR, Finance and IT, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are managed.
o Communicate project updates and progress effectively to all relevant parties.
o Collaborate with HR leadership to understand evolving business needs and ensure technology solutions remain aligned, using Product Boards and other relevant forums/channels.
4. Vendor Management:
o Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring they deliver services in line with contractual agreements.
o Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
o Support new supplier negotiations with defined scopes and benefit cases, working with the Procurement team to enable efficient, appropriate and value creating commercial agreements with fully rounded business cases.
5. Portfolio Team Management:
o Working with the team leads, support the HR Tech team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
o Set clear objectives and expectations for team members, providing regular feedback and coaching.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in HR technology programme management, ideally within a large, complex organisation.
2. Strong understanding of Workday, other similar HRIS systems and wider HR technologies.
3. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
7. Prior experience in line management and team development.
8. Familiarity with HR tech data strategy and governance models is highly desirable.
9. Experience with Workday and Prism strategy development and implementation would be a significant advantage.
Note: This role is primarily focused on maintaining the current HR Tech portfolio and ensuring operational continuity during the maternity leave period, while also supporting the team in progressing key 2025 initiatives. Strategic development and new initiatives will be limited.
