About the role
As the Media and Effectiveness Manager for Home at Tesco, you will lead the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of media campaigns across all channels. Your role will focus on optimising media investment, leveraging data and insights to refine audience targeting, and driving effectiveness through robust measurement and reporting.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and external agency partners to ensure campaigns are aligned with business objectives, reach the right customers, and deliver measurable outcomes. This role is pivotal in ensuring the Home Brands’ media strategy drives customer engagement and achieves commercial goals.
You will be responsible for
• Developing and lead media strategies for Home, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives and customer insights.
• Working with internal and external teams to define and refine audiences using internal and external data sources, ensuring campaigns effectively target and engage key customer groups.
• Collaborating with Media partners to allocate and optimize paid media budgets across channels (digital, social, TV, print, etc.), balancing reach, frequency, and ROI.
• Overseeing the development of media plans, ensuring they align with brand campaigns and deliver on KPIs.
• Working closely with the Customer Insights team to leverage data, track audience behaviours, and identify new opportunities for engagement.
• Measuring campaign effectiveness, developing robust post-campaign reports and sharing actionable insights with key stakeholders.
• Partnering with agencies and media partners to ensure high-quality delivery of media campaigns, including creative execution, targeting, and reporting.
• Working with media partners on test and learn frameworks to continuously improve campaign performance.
• Providing recommendations on media innovation, staying ahead of industry trends to explore new platforms and tools.
• Building strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, and Finance, to ensure media plans are integrated and commercially viable.
• Managing and report on budgets, ensuring all media investments are optimised for efficiency and effectiveness.
You will need
Operational skills relevant for this job:
• Strong understanding of media planning and buying.
• Expertise in audience segmentation and targeting, leveraging tools like CRM data, social listening, or third-party datasets.
• Advanced proficiency in campaign measurement and effectiveness,
• Ability to analyse and interpret data to inform decisions and improve campaign outcomes.
• Strong communication skills, with experience presenting insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Experience relevant for this job:
• Management of media campaigns for a large consumer brand, ideally in retail or FMCG.
• Experience working with media agencies to plan, execute, and measure campaigns.
• Hands-on experience with campaign analytics and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies and optimization strategies.
• Budget management experience with a focus on maximising effectiveness.
