We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join us as Head of Religious Education and Catholic Life.
You will play a pivotal role in fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of religious and ethical values within our college and support the development of a sense of community for all. You will therefore have good knowledge of other faiths and religions and be able to build effective relationships with religious leaders within the local community.
This is a key post within our college which requires a positive, highly efficient and responsible approach. The post calls for the ability to work on one’s own, to work with a high degree of accuracy and to use judgement and initiative. Of course, central to this, is the experience and support provided to students which must be stimulating, encouraging and relevant.
You will be responsible for shaping the RPE team as well as the Chaplaincy and leading a team of dedicated teachers and support staff to deliver an outstanding teaching and learning experience. Your expertise and leadership will guide the curriculum, ensuring it reflects the richness and diversity of various religious traditions while promoting tolerance and respect for different beliefs. As such, previous experience leading or managing a team is essential.
You must be experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated research informed practitioner, with strong organisational skills and the ability to engage and inspire students and staff.
In addition to leading the team you will also be expected to teach A-Level Religious Studies as well as delivery of the RPE programme. As such, previous experience of teaching is essential.
Due to the nature of this role, it is a reserved post for a practicing Catholic*. As part of the application form you will need to provide the details of a Priest as confirmation of your faith and character.
Please do not hesitate to contact us to seek further information. Our Principal will be delighted to personally show you around our wonderful college and discuss this exciting role in more detail.
