Pharmacy Digital Project Manager

Job overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to manage and oversee digital projects within the Pharmacy directorate at OUHFT, including our current Pharmacy Stock Control replacement project. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in project management and a passion for improving healthcare delivery through digital initiatives.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the overall management of the Pharmacy Stock Control replacement project, as well as future digital projects within Pharmacy. These responsibilities include project definition and initiation, stakeholder engagement, project planning, benefit-realisation and ensuring the project completes on time, and within defined constraints. Once completed, the post holder will ensure system sign-off from all relevant stakeholders, and produce a comprehensive post-implementation report, including handover to the pharmacy directorate management at project closure.
The role requires a professional project management approach that involves considerable responsibility for co-ordinating activities in accordance with objectives of the project and any relevant Trust standards and policies. A strong project management background is essential.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Pharmacy Stock Control Replacement Project
* To support the project team in the development and implementation of the pharmacy systems optimisation project, which compromises:
o A more comprehensive integration with our Trust EPR
o Updates to our robotic dispensing cabinets to facilitate better integration and readiness for Falsified Medicines Directive.
o A key member of our departmental space optimisation team
* To work with the Project Lead and Pharmacy Stock Control System Manager to ensure the project runs to the agreed timeline.
* To ensure that a business approach to the delivery of the project is managed on behalf of the pharmacy directorate executive.
* Provides effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and that their skills are developed. Allocate and monitor work as appropriate.
* Actively represent the project team, ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained.
* Take responsibility for the definition, documentation and safe execution of one or more significant projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Manage the project in line with agreed roles and responsibilities to meet specified objectives. Identify, assess and manage risks to the success of the project.
* Ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and all activities tracked against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to senior management, and client/user management as appropriate.
* To identify, engage and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure involvement in the development and enhancement of the system.
* To formulate and adjust plans and strategies.
* Communicate a range of complex and sometimes controversial or sensitive issues relating to the project to staff from various levels within and outside pharmacy or supplier peers in an appropriate manner.
* To set up and chair a new Pharmacy Systems Optimisation Joint Project Group.
* Support the project lead in facilitation of meetings and workshops, ensuring information is recorded as required including minutes and actions.
* To provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information to a variety of staff groups.
* To arbitrate and resolve competing requests in regard to prioritising project development.
* To ensure that all relevant Impact Assessments are completed e.g. financial health of the projects.
* To monitor all aspects of project and ensure that appropriate risk assessments are undertaken and acted upon.
* To effectively and efficiently manage budgets in accordance with standing financial instructions.
* Effectively estimate costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project to an agreed scope.
* Ensure that delivered systems are implemented within these criteria.
* To have responsibility for and take the lead for nominated tasks, e.g. projects and developments.
* Routinely update project documents including templates and project documentation.
* Manage the project and deliverable change control procedure, gaining agreement for revisions to the project(s) from the project sponsors.
* Train or brief staff in areas of expertise.
* To provide regular highlight reports to Senior Pharmacy Managers and the Pharmacy Directorate Executive group as well as the Lead Pharmacist Clinical Informatics.
* To undertake other duties that are considered to be within the general scope of the post, as required by Senior Pharmacy Managers.

Qualifications
* Degree at minimum 2:1 level, or equivalent project management experience
* Evidence of continual personal development
