Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in a children's EBD care home setting. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the management of daily operations, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with regulations. This position requires strong leadership skills, a background in care services, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and residents alike.
Responsibilities
1. Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the care home, ensuring that all staff adhere to policies and procedures.
2. Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance on best practices in medication administration and care delivery.
3. Develop, implement, and review individual care plans for residents, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
4. Foster a positive environment that promotes resident wellbeing and dignity.
5. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
6. Liaise with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to coordinate resident care.
7. Participate in staff training and development initiatives to enhance team performance.
8. Address any issues or concerns raised by residents or staff promptly and effectively.
Qualifications/Experience
1. At least 12 months experience in a Senior role within a Children's Residential setting
2. NVQ level 4 Residential Childcare
3. Enrolled on/working towards NVQ Level 5 Leadership and Management
4. Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
5. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation
6. Good insight into the care of children and young people
7. Ability to lead and motivate others
8. Self motivated and proactive
