A market-leading educational publisher, based in Ireland, is seeking a proactive and people focused Editorial Manager to join their busy and highly successful editorial team. This role offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits and hybrid working from the company's Dublin office.
As Editorial Manager, reporting to the Publishing Director, your main remit will be to oversee the editorial process from idea generation to publication, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to quality standards for print and digital products for primary and post-primary school markets in Ireland. Responsibilities include (amongst others):
1. Lead and mentor a small editorial team.
2. Assist Commissioning Editors with publishing proposals.
3. Assign and brief in-house and freelance editors.
4. Compile editorial schedules and control budgets.
5. Coordinate with the Production team.
6. Implement procedures to enhance efficiency.
7. Manage author/editor relations.
8. Ensure products meet specifications.
9. Organise staff training and appraise internal editors.
10. Stay updated with editorial trends.
