Our client is a well-established company in the wholesale and distribution sector, with an outstanding reputation for good service and customer relations and an impressive growth story over the last 100 years.
With 13 locations across the UK, the business supplies a number of industries and is looking for someone to oversee all operations and develop business across the North East territory in a role created due to internal promotion.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
1. Account and Territory Development: Strengthening long-term relationships with clients and suppliers to outpace competitors whilst developing new areas of business and establishing yourself in the territory as the preferred supplier of choice.
2. Range & Relationship Development: Collaborating with market-leading suppliers to drive innovation and product range expansion in key accounts.
3. Sales Leadership: Managing internal and field sales teams and account managers, ensuring they hit targets and exceed expectations.
4. Operational Oversight: Overseeing warehouse operations and logistics to ensure efficient stock management and timely distribution.
5. Financial Management: Leading the branch finance team, managing budgets, and ensuring financial performance meets business goals.
The suitable candidate will be a proven leader/people manager who possesses commercial acumen having worked in a Branch/Area/General Manager or National/Key Account Manager role previously, ideally within Retail, Wholesale or Distribution.
You’ll have demonstrable experience in working in a P&L accountable role, with experience in new and existing business/sales development and account management.
You’ll be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is keen to develop and lead a business with a passion for results and success.
Ideally, you will be degree qualified, although this is not essential.
